COVID-19 Policy

In light of the impact of COVID-19, the continuing concerns with variants of COVID-19, the ready availability of the COVID-19 vaccine, and in accordance with the Government of Ontario’s requirements, Northumberland Festival of the Arts has introduced a policy for COVID-19. The safety of all participants has been carefully considered for all our events.

Some events are held outdoors which limits the risks of exposure. When planning the indoor events, venues were chosen with open air options and/or updated ventilation. In some cases, capacity was reduced to allow for social distancing and other safety measures.

At each event we will have sanitation stations with masks and hand sanitizer.

Everyone who attends an event, including guests, artists and volunteers are expected to self-screen as follows:

  • Have you tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days?
  • Have you experienced, within the past 48 hours, any new or worsening symptoms of COVID-19?
  • Have you had contact with any person having or suspected of having COVID-19 within the past 10 days.

If you answer yes to any of these questions, we ask that you not attend the event out of consideration for others’ health and well-being.

We will continue to monitor new risks associated with COVID and adjust our policy if necessary to ensure all participants have as safe and enjoyable an experience as possible at all NFOTA events.
