As the Northumberland Festival of the Arts draws to a close, we have a packed schedule of compelling events lined up for this final weekend. From artistic workshops to breathtaking performances, each event promises to be a unique experience.

Friday, September 20th

  • How do you do that? Join Pamela Tate at The Tate Gallery from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM for a fascinating workshop where she demystifies the process of creating abstract art. Discover the inspiration and techniques behind her vibrant, non-representational pieces.

Saturday, September 21st

  • Sounding the Drum & Raising Our Voices: From 10:30 AM to noon at Castleton Town Hall, Elder Melody Crowe shares the importance of Indigenous storytelling and language in a deeply moving session.
  • Hill Spirits VI Anthology Launch: At 2:00 PM, head to the Cobourg Library for the launch of the sixth anthology in the Hill Spirits series, exploring the theme of “Change” through poetry and prose.
  • Les AMIS Concerts Presents TAKEFIVE: Enjoy an evening of classical music from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trinity United Church, featuring works by Schumann and Brahms performed by the TakeFive Ensemble.

Sunday, September 22nd

  • Star Catchers Showcase: Premiere Dance Cobourg hosts this dynamic dance showcase from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Experience everything from ballet to hip-hop, performed by top dancers from the region.
  • Yo y My Shadow! Don’t miss this musical performance at Premier Dance Theatre, where Fabian Arciniegas and Claire Harris explore themes of inner conflict through song and storytelling from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
