Northumberland Art Lovers: Mandy Martin

Mandy Martin

“I’m just blown away by the talent that you expose and bring to the table. Here you are, years into it, and you haven’t run out yet! You do wonderful work,” says Mandy Martin, Mayor of the Town of Cramahe and Deputy Warden of Northumberland, about the Northumberland Festival of the Arts.

In this series we feature interviews and discussions with Individual Artists, Leaders of Arts Groups and Organizations, Civic Leaders, and Arts Lovers in our county.

Today’s interview with mayor Martin is by Felicity Sidnell Reid and Chris Cameron.

Mandy talks about the strengths of a rural community, the Colborne Art Gallery and Cramahe Library, how she loves to dance, and artisans hiding in the woods.

  1. Wonderful to have such enthusiastic support for the arts in our community.

  2. What a wonderful interview! Well done, Mandy, Felicity and Chris. It’s an interview full of quotable quotes and a love and commitment to the arts in Northumberland. “The arts are an expression of ourselves… it’s the spiritual side of ourselves.. It’s integral to who we are as a community and who we are as people. It boosts us, it buoys us – it’s exceedingly important.”
