Many thanks to Northumberland Festival of the Arts for helping to make Postcards From Northumberland a great success!
We have decided to reprise the event and will present the same program at St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Brighton on Saturday October 22, at 7 PM. Don’t miss this opportunity to see two wonderful musicians performing a diverse and exciting program!
Tickets are available online at experiencecobourg.ca and at Victoria Hall Concert Hall box office.
Here is a description of the concert:
Postcards from Northumberland
Sweeping Northumberland vistas form a backdrop for two distinguished musicians presenting classical favourites and contemporary masterpieces.
Internationally acclaimed concert pianist Richard Herriott premieres his own composition, a specially commissioned piano suite, inspired by his impressions of Cobourg, Presqu’ile and points in between. Herriott also embraces the magic of Gershwin’s dynamic Rhapsody in Blue.
David Shewchuk, violinist and Concertmaster of the Quinte Symphony brings the wizardry of Sarasate, the elegance of his signature compositions and energy of beloved Canadian fiddle tunes to the concert stage.
Art Historian Evan McMurtry curates a collection of Northumberland images that set the mood for this extraordinary, multi-media event.
