Sing it! Say it! Play it! Northumberland Festival of the Arts (NFOTA) is madly planning and preparing to amaze you once again with NFOTA 2024!
NFOTA (pronounced en-phota) is a not-for-profit arts organization, and 100% of the work is done by volunteers. Our volunteers come from all over Northumberland County and many are artists and performers themselves. We all believe in bringing art and performance to the folk in the county; we believe in community collaboration and in the power of art to improve peopleโs lives.
NFOTA events range from musical concerts to literary readings; from dance spectaculars to drama performances. We bring together actors and artisans, painters and photographers, musicians, singers and dancers, writers and poets in a grand collaborative showcase of over 20 events. There is something for all artistic interests and for all ages. Many events are free.
In just a few months, from September 13 to September 22, 2024. Thatโs 10 days of fabulous events for art lovers from 9 to 90. Come to one or come to them all.
Performances, demonstrations, presentations and workshops will take place in several towns across Northumberland County: Alderville, Baltimore, Brighton, Cobourg, Colborne, Castleton, Port Hope and Warkworth. Events will take place in theatres, libraries, town halls, and even outdoors in a tipi.
Northumberland is rich in artistic talent. We celebrate that talent and give local performers a platform to share it with the community. We pay all our participating artists and so help to keep our cultural community strong. We believe art enriches our lives and should be accessible to everyone to enjoy and participate in.
