What’s on at the Festival: Blue Denim Press Author Evening

Refreshment in hand, join Blue Denim Press authors at The Mill for an evening of discussions on literature and readings from recently launched books. Learn about how authors coped and succeeded to create and publish their work during pandemic times.

The following books will be launched at this event: In Love With The Night by Liz Torlée, The Last Secret by Pam Royl, and Empire in the Sand by Shane Joseph

“I’m delighted to be back with live book launches after two years of pandemic-related hibernation”

Shane Joseph, publisher, Blue Denim Press.

Blue Denim Press Author Evening takes place Thursday, September 29, 2022, 7PM – 9PM at The Mill Restaurant in Cobourg

Blue Denim Press has been publishing in Cobourg since 2011. Starting out with two works a year and building up to the current four a year, Blue Denim Press publishes quality fiction, memoir and non-fiction from Canadian writers, many of whom are local to Northumberland County. In addition, Blue Denim Press regularly publishes anthologies of works by local groups, including the biennial Hill Spirits anthologies from the Spirit of the Hills Writers and the 2021 anthology, Our Pandemic Times, from Northumberland Festival of the Arts.

Shane Joseph is a Canadian novelist, blogger, reviewer, short story writer, and publisher. He is the author of six novels and three collections of short stories. His latest novel, Empire in the Sand, will be released in in the Fall of 2022. For details visit his website at www.shanejoseph.com

Pam Royl was inspired to write her debut novel by an ancestor she discovered while writing family memoirs. Developing her fiction writing skills through courses at the University of Toronto, and the mentorship of International award-winning author, Donna Morrissey, Pam set her story within the fascinating history of Northumberland County, where she lives with her husband Ian.

Liz Torlée lived and worked in England and Germany before emigrating to Canada. She has always been fascinated by the idea of fate and the way it makes all our lives intersect in strange and far-reaching ways. She and her husband are avid travellers, especially through the Middle East … or any country with a desert! They live in mid-town Toronto. In Love with the Night is Liz’s second novel.
