Staged Dramatic Readings of Three Original Plays from Local Playwrights in Three Different Locations
Discover another series of events for you, your friends and family to enjoy at the Northumberland Festival of the Arts, September 16 – October 2, 2022, taking place in Northumberland County’s picturesque towns and beautiful countryside.

“I have actually done these (staged dramatic readings) before and prefer this kind of presentation to a more traditional one. We can be the character, focus on voice and where the character is coming from. I’m attracted to this story and I love the fact that my character is based on a real, local woman who could communicate with ghosts. I’m excited to be doing this… I really can’t wait!
Stacey Toste, who plays Maggie in Wind over Weller’s Bay.
NFOTA presents three one act plays, Screwed by Donald J. Anderson, Nail Polish by Christopher Cameron, and Wind over Weller’s Bay by Karen Palmer.
All three plays will be presented on three occasions at:
Trinity St. Andrew’s United Church, 56 Prince Edward Street, Brighton on September 17th at 7 PM
St Paul’s United Church, 60 Main Street, Warkworth on September 23rd at 7 PM
Victoria Hall in Cobourg on October 2nd at 2 PM as part of the Festival Finale.

Fantastic and Fantastical is a night of original one-act plays featuring spirits, secrets and even a ghost or two. Selected from 18 submissions by local writers, these plays will be premiered as staged readings featuring local performers.
They are sure to entertain you and make you laugh and you may even learn a thing or two about local history as well.
The artistic directors, Matthew Blundell and Kate Shuker have engaged an enthusiastic and experienced cast, and Robert Bailey has taken up the challenge of producing the event in three locations.
